With our Recurrency platform, we consistently strive to be on the cutting edge of communication between brands and their customers – enabling over 40,000 locations around the world to send the right message, to the right person, at the right time. With these goals in mind, we are proud to announce we have joined Google’s Rich Communication Services (RCS) Early Access Program. As a way to celebrate the launch of Mobile World Congress next week, Google announced the program as a method for cellular carriers, brands, and technology partners to work together in establishing the future of communication standards for business and marketing messaging.
Creating New Ways to Communicate
With the announcement of Google’s RCS platform, brands are beginning to see the advantage of expanding on the SMS standard. These enhanced features will include dynamic interactions through suggested replies or actions, a rich-media experience previously prohibited by standard SMS, extendable attachment and file size capabilities, and custom branding within the messaging platform. Mobivity will be piloting the RCS program with select clients, including Subway, Baskin-Robbins, and Sonic Drive-In.
From Google’s announcement, brands can already begin to envision the possibilities with an extendable messaging platform:
“Currently millions of businesses, service providers, and brands use SMS to communicate with their customers, whether they’re sending a bank fraud alert or package delivery notification. But while SMS provides a universal way for consumers to connect with businesses, the messages are limited to just plain text. RCS will upgrade today’s business messaging experience by enabling brands to send more useful and interactive messages. . . Businesses can also have a branded messaging experience with information about the business and the ability to share content like images, video clips and gifs.”
Helping You Define the Standard
Wondering how your brand or business can take advantage of this new mobile initiative, and be at the forefront of messaging innovation? We are excited to announce that through our participation in Google’s RCS Early Access Program, Mobivity clients will be able to communicate with their customers who have RCS-enabled devices in this new and innovative method, while Non-RCS enabled devices will receive marketing content through Mobivity’s award-winning SmartMessenger solution.
