Management Team

Dennis Becker

Chairman, CEO

A decade of experience leading enterprises redefining the way technology and business interact prepared Dennis Becker to found Mobivity on a vision of cloud-based solutions to mobile marketing. Becker’s background includes awards as founder of Frontieric Corporation and CEO of Bexel Technologies. Prior to Mobivity, Dennis studied Computer Science at the University of Oregon and served in the USAF.

Mike Bynum

President, Board Member

Before Mobivity, Michael Bynum joined a small independent company purchased by TransWestern Publishing in 1985. Rising to the position of EVP of TransWestern Publishing Bynum, along with eight senior managers, acquired TransWestern Publishing for $32 million. In 2005, the TWP was sold to Yellow Book for $1.575 billion. Bynum brings over 30 years of experience in local marketing and advertising to the Mobivity team.

Tom Tolbert

EVP and Chief Sales Officer

Tom Tolbert brings more than 20 years of experience in growing sales teams, focused on local advertising products and services. Tolbert was most recently CEO of Front Door Insights, which was acquired by Mobivity. Before FDI, Tolbert managed sales operations for a local advertising company where he was instrumental in growing revenues from $15 million to $45 million. Tolbert previously served as Sales SVP at KW Brock Directories where he grew the customer base from 15,000 to 45,000, and business markets from 38 to 65 in just over five years.

Tim Schatz

Chief Financial Officer

Since January 2010, Tim Schatz has been the Director of Finance, Vice President of Finance, and on February 1, 2012 he became the CFO for Mobivity. From 2008 to 2009, Schatz functioned as Corporate Accounting Manager for Locallife USA, a San Diego startup involved with local internet search engine technology and local small business marketing strategies. Until 2008, Schatz spent 13 years with Enterprise Rent-A-Car, with the final 6 years as Regional Business Manager/Controller of the Inland Empire Los Angeles region, encompassing 40 locations and over 300 employees.

Alex Shah

Chief Technology Officer

Alex Shah was CTO for CommerceTel from 2010-2012. Previously, he was Senior Vice President of R&D at Blue Titan, a Draper Fisher funded venture, where he led the development of software tools to manage complex IT integration challenges. In 2004, he became Owner and Principle Architect of TeamSOA, a software architecture consulting for several financial industry related clients, including VISA Int’l Inc., and France Telecom. Shah holds eight patents for his inventions.

David Jaques

Director, Audit Committee

Leading up to his appointment as Board Director Audit Committee Chair for Mobivity, David Jaques was the CFO for BlueRun Ventures. Under Jaques’ leadership assets for BlueRun Ventures increased from $150 million to $1 billion in just six years. Jaques was also the CFO of PayPal preceding his involvement with BlueRun Ventures, and brings years of priceless experience and consistent financial guidance to the Mobivity board.

John Harris

Director, Compensation Committee

John Harris holds past experience as President and CEO of eTelecare Global Solutions – a $300 million backed Business Process Outsourcing company, as well as President and CEO of Seven World Wide – a $400 million backed Marketing Services BPO company. He holds 25 years of experience at Electronic Data Systems in several senior executive positions. John graduated from the University of West Georgia with a BBA and MBA.

Peter Brodsky

Board Member, Compensation Committee

Peter Brodsky has been a partner at HBC Investments since 2011, and has over 18 years experience in the fields of private equity firms and leveraged acquisitions. Brodsky currently serves on the board of directors for LIN Media Corporation, as well as several non-profit boards such as KIPP: Dallas-Fort Worth, AT&T Performing Arts Center, and Greenhill School. Brodsky received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Yale University in 1992.

Phil Guarascio

Board Member

Phil Guarascio was most recently non-executive Chairman of Arbitron which sold to Nielsen in December of 2013 for $1.3 billion. Guarascio was Lead Executive, Marketing and Sales at the National Football League from 2003-2007. For 16 years, Guarascio was with General Motors where he served as Vice President of Corporate Advertising and Marketing primarily responsible for worldwide advertising resource management, managing consolidated media placement and before that as General Manager of Marketing and Advertising for General Motors’ North American Operations.
